Women’s Day Celebration at MALCO Energy Limited

SALEM, India - March 7, 2014 - PRLog -- MALCO Energy Limited, Mettur Dam, a subsidiary of Sesa Sterlite Limited (A Vedanta Company) celebrated International Women’s Day 2014 on 06.03.2014. Around 500 women participated and prizes were distributed to the winners of Women Sports Meet.

MALCO Energy Limited CSR endeavors focuses on education, health, infrastructure, livelihood and women empowerment for the benefit of nearby community. As a part of empowering rural women residing nearby company, MALCO Energy has partnered with KVPMNS NGO to form self-help groups and in turn to create savings habit among rural women. The company has provided capacity building programs according to the interest of SHG members. The company has arranged the financial support through NABFINS (A subsidiary of NABARD) and nearby nationalized banks to support self-help groups.

The chief guest was Mr Govindasamy, Salem District Manager of NABFINS and he gave a special address about Women’s Day Celebration. Mr R Kandasamy, Head HR presided over the function and gave an inspiring speech about the importance of Women’s Day Celebration. MALCO Energy Limited Women Employees and Ladies Club members join together along with self-help group members in the World Women’s Day Celebration 2014.
