Attorney Dumeer is a native of Middletown where he grew up attending local schools. He graduated from Xavier High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. He also earned his J.D. degree from Roger Williams in 2009 and interned during his studies with the Office of the Middlesex County State’s Attorney. Upon graduation with his Juris Doctor, Atty. Dumeer joined a shoreline law firm, later returning to Middletown in 2012 to form the firm of Carlson & Dumeer LLC. The firm’s practice focuses on personal injury and criminal defense in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Atty. Dumeer is active in civic and professional affairs and is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association, the Middlesex United Way,and the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Middlesex Community College Foundation Board as Vice Chair and Chair of its Fund Raising Committee. In accepting the position of Chair, succeeding George A. Eames IV, Attorney Dumeer expressed his gratitude to the Board for their trust in him and described his goal for the Foundation as strengthening the Board’s work in raising funds to ensure that every student in the region has a chance to find success through accessible and affordable higher education. His commitment to expanding educational opportunities in Middlesex County springs from his roots in the region and from the dedication of family members who are long time educators in Middletown and nearby communities.
