About King Kihei
A community activist, education advocate, and artist, King Kihei(Pronounced "key hey") has garnered the reputation of having one of the most innovative minds within his community. King Kihei, is of Hawaiian and African American descent. Kihei, which means, 'God's armor', was born in Honolulu, raised in South Central Los Angeles and Kansas City. He has experienced many different walks of life which lends to his uncanny ability to draw from these influences in his music. He's defied the odds many times over, but namely as a cancer survivor. A true lyricist, King Kihei brings an unprecedented style to not just Hip Hop, but to the world.
Not only has King Kihei become one of the biggest names in the Kansas City music scene, he has also made a name for himself with poetry and spoken word audiences by adding Guinness Book of World Record holder (for the longest poetry reading ever) to his many accolades. He's also had the rare opportunity to share the stage with the likes of national acts such as Drake, Rakim, Slick Rick, PMD, Bobby Valentino, David Banner, Afroman, Jagged Edge, Yukmouth, Luni Coleone, Killa Tay, MC Eiht, Spice one, GLC, just to name a few. King Kihei does not plan on ending his ability to accomplish greatness any time soon. So don’t miss out on your chance to experience history in the making.
