HOUSTON, March 5 2014- Athena Oilfield Services, LLC, a multi-functional service and supply company for the Oil & Gas Industry, announced today that they have officially opened their headquarters in Houston, Texas and are ready to launch their services in The Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas and beyond .

Ashton Verrengia, President and CEO of Athena Oilfield Services, is one of the few young, female entrepreneurs trying to make it big in an industry primarily dominated by men.

Ashton was lucky enough to get her first job in the industry at age 17 while working on her biomedical science degree at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. Ashton says she “was drawn to the fast-paced, unpredictable excitement of the Oil Boom” and has dedicated her career to the industry ever since.

With several years of experience under her belt, and established relationships with some of the biggest companies in the business, Ashton decided the timing was right to launch her own business.

“There is enormous demand for service companies to assist operators in solving their drilling, completion and production challenges.”

The name “Athena” was strategically chosen by Ashton for its powerful symbolism and meaning. In Greek Mythology, Athena is the goddess Wisdom, Warfare, and Divine Intelligence. Athena is also a companion of heroes and is the goddess of heroic endeavor; a fitting name for a female-owned company fighting to make its mark in an industry dominated by men.
