Imbesi Christensen wins hearing on behalf of a former employee of title insurance company

NEW YORK - March 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Attorney Brittany Weiner, an associate of the law firm Imbesi Christensen, successfully represented an employee who was initially denied unemployment benefits by the Department of Labor.

The Honorable Viren Pergadia issued an award, in favor of the firm's client, after an in-person hearing was conducted.  The decision overruled a determination by the Department of Labor that the employee was not entitled to unemployment insurance benefits because she voluntarily left her employment without good cause.

Specifically, the decision set forth the following:

DECISION: The initial determinations, disqualifying the claimant from receiving benefits effective December 19, 2013, on the basis that the claimant voluntarily separated from employment without good cause, is overruled.

The claimant is allowed benefits with respect to the issues decided herein
