Waterstone Management Group’s New Partner Bill Bien Strengthens Leadership
Bien's extensive experience with developing and executing growth strategies in networking, mobile, managed services and software technology companies will build on Waterstone's strengths in assisting clients to greater revenue and profit growth
With more than 20 years of success as a senior-level executive, Bill brings impressive experience to the enterprise, including his most recent role as CEO of 6connect, where he was responsible for accelerating sales and raising venture capital funding for the network management start-up. Bill has a record of success in general management, strategy and marketing positions for both early stage and global Fortune 500 technology companies, including Cisco and Telstra. At Waterstone, he will help expand the firm’s client roster in communications and other technology sectors, with a particular focus on assisting clients improve their sales and marketing strategy and execution to drive revenue growth.
Mark Hauser, Managing Director and one of the founders of Waterstone Management Group, has devoted substantial energy to making sure Waterstone attracts the best and brightest, and most accomplished executives to help guide Waterstone clients as they define and achieve their goals. Prior to joining Waterstone, Bill served as CEO of 6connect; immediately prior he was Vice President of Sales & Marketing at People Power Co., helping to transform the Silicon Valley firm into a connected-device leader. Prior to that, Bill worked at the Australia-based Telstra Corporation, where he was Vice President for Marketing, Strategy and Development. He also served as Telstra’s Vice President of Corporate Strategy and later advancing in his six years at Cisco, where he was promoted to key strategic planning and strategic investment roles, as well as sales and business development responsibilities. Earlier in his career, Bill worked for The Boston Consulting Group, focusing on technology and banking growth strategies in the USA and in Asian markets.

Bill’s educational background includes a JD from Stanford Law School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Chinese from Ohio State University. He also studied Advanced Chinese at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
