NEW YORK - March 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Beginning this week, NYC Media will broadcast a 13 episode series of fresh, bold and diverse original entertainment from The Asian American Film Lab (“Film Lab”).

NYC Media is the official TV, radio and online network of the City of New York, informing, educating and entertaining New Yorkers about the City’s diverse people and neighborhoods, government, services, attractions and activities. On March 5, 2014, at 10pm EST, the Film Lab’s new series, Film Lab Presents, will begin broadcasting on NYC life, NYC Media's flagship television station, which is available in the New York tri-state area on broadcast, cable and satellite channels.  To link to the carrier/schedule: http://on.nyc.gov/1dsR7qB.  Outside of the New York area, the show can be viewed via Video on Demand at www.nyc.gov/vod.

Film Lab Presents will consist of a series of “Film Lab Mash Ups,” ranging from comedy to drama.  The consistent underlying theme is one of definition – what does it mean to be a minority member of a society?  The issue will be examined through positive, non-academic, easily accessible, and creative original stories.

Film Lab President and also the host of the new show, Jennifer Betit Yen, said, “The Film Lab is very grateful to NYC Media for its incredible support and the hard work it does to ensure that a wide and diverse range of stories, faces and voices too often absent from the mainstream media are both seen and heard.”
