Doco Donuts to Host Book Launch Event for “Common Sense” Author
New Book with Political “Centrist” Theme Takes No Sides in Assigning Blame and Responsibility
In his book, JJ McKeever builds off of playwright Garson Kanin’s assertion that “A world full of ignorant people is too dangerous to live in (“Born Yesterday”). Using this quote as his guiding light, McKeever presents a series of thought-provoking essays that cut across a wide range of every day issues facing hard working, middle-class Americans in the early 21st century. And, he does not hold back when it comes to criticizing just about anyone – regardless of political affiliation – responsible for our society’s dilemmas and predicaments. The list includes, we the people. Not a single area of our lives is immune from McKeever’s biting commentary, so often punctuated by a few chuckles and guffaws strategically placed to help us laugh at our own absurdities, naivety and apathy.
“For a long time I have been getting disgusted with the direction America has been going in,” the author writes in his book’s Introduction. “Many times it seems like problems get blown out of proportion just because individuals do not take time to look clearly at a situation and try to think it through with a little common sense. And, as time went on (as I drafted these pages), my “Common Sense” took on a life of its own,” McKeever further explains.
It is also important to know that McKeever does not write for an audience of Fox News conservatives, MSNBC liberals or CNN which-ever-way-
JJ. McKeever resides in NJ and is a lover of God, family, country and rock-n-roll. He is a writer who has worked in government, business and nonprofit worlds, travels around a lot, and never gets tired of watching people and figuring out how life works.
