STC announces new ‘Tapping In’ grant for students and recent grads
STC (the Small Technologies Cluster) today announced the launch of ‘Tapping In’ grant for students and recent grads to access Australia’s first dedicated advanced technology coworking space.
Located at 1 Dalmore Drive in Scoresby in the heart of Australia’s leading advanced manufacturing precinct, ‘The Tap’ offers flexible open workspace in a hotbed of collaboration, connectivity, networking and support.
The grant provides:
· Use of ‘The Tap’ business intelligence portal, advanced CAD and photorealistic rendering workstation and 3D printer
· Connections to experts for mentorship and support
· Participation in STC events, like Help Desks and the Event in the Tent series
· A focused opportunity to turn an idea into a start-up
Applications are rolling, so interested people can email (to email@example.com) a one-page confidential executive summary of their idea, telling STC why it is awesome. Applications will be reviewed and awarded based on merit and enthusiasm of the team.
“Student entrepreneurship in Australia falls well behind other leading innovation economies. Early start-ups out of garages and coffee shops are great, but getting your idea into a professional setting not only allows accelerated business development, but creates valuable connections through serendipitous interactions with others that work, network and collaborate in STC.” said Buzz Palmer, STC’s CEO.
‘The Tap’ exists through supporter from Caribbean Business Park (http://www.caribbeanpark.com/
