-- India has been the seat of learning since ancient times,the uniqueness& diversity of its culture make it as one of the most beautiful countries in the world said Tejendra Khanna, Former Lt. Governor, Delhi delivering the Distinguished Leader Lecture on Higher Education & Grooming Visionary Leadership for Resurgent India.
Annual Distinguished Leader Lecture was organized at Sri Sathya Sai International Auditorium. The Lecture Series is organized annually by Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) on issues of critical importance in the area of public policy with a view to provoking debate and discussion on thought innovation and re-engineering in the Indian public sphere. Speaking on the occasion Mr Khanna stressed on need for every individual to imbibe the Indian value system based on integrity, honesty, self discipline and self regulation. Constant learning efforts are important for visionary leadership.
Dr Amit Gupta, chairman, JIMS emphasised on need for higher education to inculcate leadership qualities among the youth so that they may help the country to emerge as a global leader. The growing emphasis on research and innovation in higher education need lot of thinking and reflection. Also present on the occasion was Mr. Anil Aggarwal, President ASOOCHAM, and faculty and students of JIMS.
Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) was founded in the year 1993 by Jagannath Memorial Educational Society (Regd.) to provide holistic education to the youth of Delhi & NCR, in particular, and the country, in general. Ever since then, the Society has established eight institutes of excellence in Delhi NCR and one in Rajasthan to impart professional and technical knowledge in the cutting edge disciplines of management studies, information technology, mass communication, hospitality and hotel management etc. and two UGC recognized private universities, one at Jaipur, Rajasthan, and the other at Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
