Restaurant Grand Openings in Destin and More Mardi Gras Festivities

Feb. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Mardi Gras events continue around Destin with the Mardi Gras Dog Parade, a local favorite that will come through the Village of Baytowne Wharf on March 2^nd. Visitors come from near and far with their costumed pups and tons of beads. The Village will be filled with holiday music, parade floats, and a crowd of people with their four-legged friends. Fat Tuesday will be celebrated in the Village with another parade. More floats, golf carts, and street marchers will fill the streets beginning at 5pm.

Jackacudas Seafood and Sushi will have its grand opening on the harbor March 4th. Opened by a team of local longtime friends, the new restaurant boasts fresh, local, and sustainable seafood. On March 8^th at HarborWalk Village, Crab Island Cantina will present Tequila and Taco Fest. Along with tequila tastings and a variety of tacos, there will be contests and live entertainment. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Salvation Army. There will be festivities around Destin in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. The 6^th Annual Irish Street Fest and Grogg March will be on the 15^th at HarborWalk. Visitors are invited to enjoy Irish music and dancing, and games throughout the day and evening. Baytowne Wharf will also host a celebration with traditional Celtic music at the events plaza on March 17^th.

The monthly ArtWalk on the Harbor is on the 16^th from 11am-4pm. The event stretches from AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar along the harbor. Crowds come on the third Sunday of each month to view the showcase of area artists with unique arts and crafts available. Destin vacation rentals are available in the area for reservations at great rates.

New to the HarborWalk Village is Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville restaurant. Taking over the location of the Lucky Snapper, Margaritaville opened in February with indoor and outdoor seating and enough seating for over 400 people. For overnight stays, accommodations can be made at the local Edgewater Condo Resort.
