Tub King Features Selection of Slipper Tubs at Home & Patio Show
The award-winning national distributor of specialty tubs will be at booth #1037 this weekend.
Slipper Tubs are deep soaking bathtubs. One end of the tub has very tall, pronounced slope, where the bather is able to lean his or her back against it. “That’s how these elegant tubs got their name, because they resemble a slipper, with the sloped end being eight to ten inches taller the opposite end,” explains Tub King’s co-founder Kerry Knight.
In addition to making a statement due to their attractive design, the Slipper Tubs are extremely comfortable. “When you fill these deep tubs with warm water, it’s easy to ‘slip’ into an incredibly soothing, restful environment in the comfort of your own home.” Knight says.
All of the Slipper Tubs are manufactured for Tub King with Knight working directly with the manufacturer. “Our logo is imprinted on each and every tub, along with the different certifications that all these tubs carry,” he adds.
Most Slipper Tubs are made of cast iron, with usually bright, white porcelain glass coating the interior. For those who want to personalize their Slipper Tub to match or complement their bathroom’s décor, Tub King can create up to 3,000 different exterior colors; enough to satisfy anyone’s discerning taste for design. Popular colors, according to Knight, are candy apple red, midnight black, and buttery cream.
The tubs come in a traditional claw foot or pedal base versions.
Tub King also offers elegant fixtures for its distinctive line of Slipper Tubs. The all-brass fixtures, including the claw feet, can be plated in different finishes such as oil-rubbed bronze, brushed nickel and chrome. “And if you order your fixtures from us, we’ll ship the entire order free of charge,” Knight says.
The Slipper Tub often comes with a tub caddy, which is a metal tray that reaches across the width of the tub. “This is an ideal place for a glass of wine or your favorite book … talk about a sensual bathing experience,”
Tub King’s Slipper Tubs come in three sizes. All tubs are measured from outside rim to outside rim. “Length-
The Slipper Tub has appeared in numerous movies. In addition to the now-famous Slipper Tubs, Tub King specializes in porcelain clawfoot tubs, dual ended tubs, as well as its popular Walk In Tub, a favorite among seniors. In fact, Tub King was contacted several times by major Hollywood film makers.
“I’m not sure if our tubs were the ones they actually used,” admits Knight, “but I can say that such actors as Cameron Diaz, Keanu Reeves, Jessica Lange and Albert Finney have shot famous bathtub scenes.”
In addition to providing tubs that have appeared in major motion pictures, Tub King is the winner of three consecutive “Best of Jacksonville”
The Home + Patio show will be held February 27th through March 2nd at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, 1000 Water Street, in downtown Jacksonville.
