The series is designed to give members an up close and personal experience with movers and shakers within and affiliated with the entertainment industry. We're kicking off the 2014 series with the leading ladies of the city and state levels of the metro-Atlanta film and television industry. Join us for... Conversations With: Lee Thomas, Director of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office & LaRonda Sutton, Director of the Atlanta Office of Entertainment will take place Thursday February 20, 2014 from 6:30p - 8:00p at Apres Diem, which is located at 931 Monroe Dr. NE Atlanta, GA 30308. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. For this intimate, WIFTA members only event, Lee Thomas & LaRonda Sutton will be sitting down with us for a candid conversation about the purposes and services of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office and the newly formed Atlanta Office of Entertainment. During the talk, attendees will learn about: - the role each office director and their respective office plays in the landscape of the Georgia entertainment industry - new happenings with the GA film industry - the projected growth for the Georgia entertainment industry for the next 1 - 5 years - how TV / film / video professionals can best utilize both offices Come find out the inside scoop! About LaRonda Sutton With more than two decades of experience as an entertainment executive, LaRonda Sutton has worked in the music, film, television and new digital media industries. As former Vice President, Music Development and Production for Foxx/King Entertainment, Sutton managed the music careers of Jamie Foxx, Ronald Isley, and Lalah Hathaway. Prior to her tenure at Foxx/King Entertainment, Sutton served as Senior Vice President, Urban Creative, for Universal Music Publishing and General Manager of Atlanta-based Hitco Music Publishing, where she worked with Antonio “L.A.” Reid, establishing Atlanta’s flourishing music community. She is a member of the National Academy of Recording Artists and Sciences (NARAS), the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), and Women in Film. About Lee Thomas Lee Thomas, an Atlanta native, has a long history with the television and film industry. She studied film / TV in college and discovered she loved location scouting. Eventually, she landed a position with the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office. Thomas served as a Project Manager for the Olympics (1996, Atlanta) and logged more than a dozen years as a location scout for the office before becoming Director of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office in 2010. About WIFTA Women In Film and Television Atlanta (WIFTA), a 501c-3 Georgia non-profit, is a member-based professional organization affiliated with other Women In Film chapters around the world. Since our inception in 1974, the Atlanta chapter has proudly had a membership community of multi-generational and culturally diverse professionals, which include producers, directors, actors, entertainment attorneys, camera and sound technicians, film editors, graphic design artists, make-up artists, wardrobe specialists, screenwriters, talent agents and casting directors.
