HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- The 2014 Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival is proud to announce the topics for the Wine Knowledge Sessions as well as the line up of participating restaurants for the Great Chefs of the Island Wine Dinners.

Festival week “uncorks” Monday, March 10th with Wine and Cinema sponsored by Custom Audio and Video of Bluffton. The Festival will preview the movie SOMM the Documentary, an in depth look at one of the world’s most difficult professional exams. The popular Wine Knowledge Sessions will provide wine lovers a fun and affordable opportunity to experience exemplary wines, learning from some of the industries most well regarded, including Bob Sabatini, Grand Vin Division Manager, Republic National Distributing Company; Joe Shirley, Winemaker, Folie a Deux and Napa Cellars; Stacy Shultz, Republic National Distributing Company and Jennifer Teed, AdVintage Distributing; and Lynne Barnard, President, Klinker Brick Winery.

“Wine drinkers are not loyal and they’re always searching for the next great discovery,” remarked Bob Sabatini, Grand Vin Division Manager, the leader of the “Undiscovered Italy” session.  “I’m going to help you discover Italy through wine…remarkable wines you’ve never heard of.”

In addition to the “Undiscovered Italy” session, the Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island will also host “Napa vs. Sonoma,” “Old World vs. New World Whites,” and the “History of Zinfandel in California.”

Tickets for Wine and Cinema on March 10th and the Wine Knowledge Sessions held on March 13-14 can be purchased through the Festival’s website,

The Great Chefs of the Island Wine Dinners will take place Tuesday, March 11th through Saturday, March 15th beginning at 6:30 p.m. each night with the exception of Friday.  Dinners on Friday, March 14th will immediately follow the Grand Tasting. These events offer an opportunity for guests to experience local cuisine paired with some of the Festival’s award winning wines.

Participating restaurants include: Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiano, Stellini Itlalian Resaurant, WiseGuys, Bombora’s Grille, Frankie Bones Restaurant & Lounge, Hugo’s Seafood & Steakhouse, Sage Room, HogsHead Kitchen & Wine Bar, Old Fort Pub, OMBRA Cucina Rustica, Redfish, Sunset Grille, Trattoria Divina, CQ’s Restaurant, The Lodge Beer and Burger Bar, Skull Creek Boathouse and the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort.
