Follow on Google News | Singer Jennie Walker To Perform at NYC’S Metropolitan Room Monday, April 7, 2014, 9:30 PMBy: JennieGirl LLC This performance will feature mostly original music, co-written by Jennie and her Grammy nominated and 12-time platinum selling producer Tommy Faragher (Bee Gees, Taylor Dayne, OJay's), who experienced his most recent #1 Billboard hit, “Teenage Dream” for the Fox TV Show GLEE. Jennie Walker’s entrance into the original music scene started in the 1980s when an original song she co-write with her late mother, “Many Times,” won the WCGQ FM Rock to Richs contest in Columbus, Georgia, was featured on the album and received regional air-play. In the 1980s and throughout the 1990s Jennie would be found performing her original music in local venues in the Atlanta area. She made a name for herself in the industry as an advocate for independent singers and songwriters, during her decades volunteering and later heading up the Georgia Music Industry Association. Jennie Walker celebrated the release of her first studio recording, Night Flight to London by performing a stunning show at The Distillers Pub's Regal Room in London, where she was celebrating her Top 10 win in the national British Airways Face of Opportunity contest, where she was having face to face meetings with publishers, radio DJs, producers and radio promoters to further her music publishing company. The album, Night Flight to London, features lush orchestrated strings and intimate vocals. She has been compared to Adele. Reviews have been outstanding for the album, which is available on iTunes and other digital outlets worldwide. The album was approved for release in China on mobile music system PaiShouBa!, via 88tc88, a German based distribution company, in 2014. The Artists Forum chose Jennie as one of the top 10 artist on the rise and in a review of her album said ““Walker’ Music Connection Magazine weighed in on her album with “NY based Walker is a good throaty singer who has a large string-heavy vision for her extremely pop-centric material. She veers toward legit theater on “Night Flight to London” and the soft, plaintive “Simon” which echo mid-career Madonna. A rock groove propels :your Father Your Mother” which deploys liberal wah-pedal on the guitar. Each of these cuttings is deftly arranged…” According to Chelsea Lewis of The Celebrity Café - “Walker has an impressive sound with her album, Night Flight to London. The album features a variety of instrumentals that really fill the sound that showcases Jennie Walker's true vocal talent. Walker really embraces a darker tone with her vocals but shows an honest side of herself. The contrast of beautiful instrumentals with darker, more emotional vocals provides an interesting sound for the listeners to embrace. “ Regarding the Performance The Metropolitan Room is located on 34 West 22nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenue New York, New York 10010 for reservations call (212) 206-0440 There is a $20.00 cover charge and two drink, per-person minimum.
