MILWAUKEE - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Milwaukee, WI: Home to iconic festivals Summerfest, The World's Largest Music Festival, Pride Fest and the massive annual Harley-Davidson 'HarleyFest,' greater Milwaukee will soon be the launching pad for a new ongoing Music Series called LIAN Riot.

Created by Geoff Slater and Danny Schmitz, co-conspirators for two-piece heavy rock outfit Lost In A Name, the inaugural all-ages event will be staged at Cream City Skatepark on Saturday March 8. Featuring Nashville rising stars The Nearly Deads, local teenage alt-rockers Life In A Tree and a headlining set by Lost In A Name, the live concert will take place against the backdrop of a cavalcade of skateboarders in action.

Slater explains the genesis for LIAN Riot, "I grew up watching many local bands and those venues no longer exist. Milwaukee's all-ages music scene has fallen off so we are teaming up with local bands, businesses, and charities to kick start the scene, while providing a friendly drug and alcohol free environment. This is a great city with an even greater potential! Together as one, we stand a chance!"

Nearly Deads front-woman Theresa Jeane has life-long ties to the area, "My entire family is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's always felt like a second home to me. Everyone here is so genuine and fun - the music scene is no different. When Goeff approached us about being part of this show, I said yes with no hesitation! The Nearly Deads are happy to be newcomers to the Milwaukee music scene, and hope to stay connected to this town, and these people, for years to come.

On the day of the event, the Skatepark is open from 11am - 10pm, with bands hitting the stage from 7-10pm. During the performances, complimentary pizza will be served and Phase 2 Skate Shop will be on hand, showcasing the latest gear. Giveaways, including a custom deck autographed by all three bands, will be up for grabs via raffle.

LIAN Riot partners/sponsors include Cream City Skatepark, Elatia Construction, Phase 2 Skate Shop, 1888 Media and Hunger Task Force, Wisconsin’s premiere anti-hunger organization that has been feeding Milwaukee since 1974.

Cream City is located at 5560 N. Park Drive, Butler, WI, 53007. Advance "concert-only" tickets are available for $6 at Tickets will also be available at the door for $8, with one dollar discount offered to patrons bringing a canned food item to donate to Hunger Task Force.

Lost In A Name

LIAN is the brain child of guitarist/vocalist Danny Schmitz. Formed seven years ago, Lost In A Name is a polished, two-piece, heavy rock outfit featuring Geoff Slater on drums/percussion. Delivering a dynamic fist-pumping live show filled with hook-driven melodies, the two rockers have put together an interactive arena experience in a rock club setting.

The Nearly Deads

Originally formed in Tampa, Florida, before relocating to the music mecca of Nashville three years ago, The Nearly Deads emit polished grit. Led by the gripping vocal embrace of Ms Theresa Jeane, her classical training is evident in the power and range of her voice, while her pop and punk influences shine through in her lyrics and captivating melodies. Matching her emotional countenance with a potent combination of agility and sensibility, guitarists Steven Tobi and Javier Garza Jr, along with bassist Kevin Koelsch, layer her fertility with a sturdy cloak of conductivity.

Life In A Tree

Southeastern Wisconsin based alt-rock quintet comprised of all 9th graders in high school. Led by a female singer named Molly, who doubles as the band's bassist, Life In A Tree's music is rich, dynamic and powerful. Laced with echoes of Smashing Pumpkins and Coldplay, ReverbNation currently ranks LIAT as the #2 Alternative Rock act in Milwaukee.

Hunger Task Force

HTF believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow. For 40 years, Hunger Task Force has been feeding Milwaukee.
