Trout Insurance launches Mobile Office to aid in ACA enrollment

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Feb. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- “With the introduction of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Open enrollment period ending at the end of March 2014, we needed a way to better serve the community.   My wife Jan began looking in 2013 for another branch location to meet this growing need.    She came across the concept of the mobile office and found an already fitted out mobile office” commented David Trout owner of Trout Insurance.

“The mobile office enables us to come out to see individuals.  We can seat 6 people in the mobile office and it is fully equipped with wireless internet, screens and projectors to enable us to discuss and share information as needed.  It allows everyone the privacy to meet with us as well as the convenience of coming to their location.  A number of local businesses are organizing us to come to their office and set up in their car park to allow their employees the convenience of meeting with us.”

The mobile office has been a great asset to the community.   With the ACA open enrollment ending on March 31^st, everyone needs to understand what this means.

Many new ACA rules for individual plans mirror long-established rules for large group insurance.  When you join a large company and have an opportunity to enroll in their insurance plan, you MUST sign up during their open enrollment.  If you don’t, coverage will not be available to you.

This is the same with new plans, unless you have a quantified event, i.e., job loss, marriage, birth, etc. In this case, if you have NOT enrolled by March 31, you will NOT be able to obtain a compliant new health insurance plan until January 2015!

So what can you do? If you don’t have qualifying insurance through your employer or you haven’t already purchased a plan through the Market Place, there’s still time, just over six weeks.
