ISLA Set to Host Drowning Prevention 5k

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- ISLA is hosting the 2014 Drowning Prevention 5k in collaboration with HBSLSA and Hoag Hospital’s community benefit organization, Project Wipeout. Drowning is the #1 cause of preventable death, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are an estimated 388,000 annual drowning deaths worldwide. The Drowning Prevention 5k will raise funds and awareness for aquatic safety, celebrate the ocean and environment, and honor those we have lost.

The event is set for Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Huntington Beach Pier with a start time of 9 a.m. Early registration is $25 for adults and $20 for children under the age of 13.
