NEW YORK - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- As the Northeastern United States gets pounded yet again in what's proving to be a relentless winter, eBay user "Sh1ttens" is offering what has amounted to a bottle of water in the desert: an unopened bag of Ice Melt Salt.

New York Times reported a full fledged shortage in effect. Last winter, the city’s Sanitation Department used 346,112 tons of road salt. The department began this winter with roughly 250,000 tons, officials said last week. Even before the latest storm, that stockpile has been nearly depleted. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said that in some places there was a “dire” shortage of salt. The bad weather this winter has left stockpiles in New York City and on Long Island dangerously depleted, Mr. Cuomo told reporters in a conference call.

Enter Mr. "Sh1ttens". With bidding starting at a mere $1,000 USD and the promise of same day delivery within a specified area of New York City, the market is watching to see how quickly buyers respond.

When asked for comment, user "Sh1ttens" (who wishes to remain anonymous) responded "F--k this snow."

F--k it, indeed.
