Birger Stamperdahl Takes Interim President & CEO Role at Give2Asia

SAN FRANCISCO - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Give2Asia announces that its Board of Directors has named Birger Stamperdahl as Interim President & CEO following the planned departure of Dr. Frank L. Ellsworth from Give2Asia. Mr. Stamperdahl is an eight-year veteran at Give2Asia, most recently serving as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Ellsworth’s transition from Give2Asia’s staff is taking place during February, and he will remain on Give2Asia’s Board of Directors where he has served for 10 years.

Give2Asia is a 501(c)3 social enterprise that specializes in philanthropic investment to 24 Asian countries. Since its founding in 2001 by The Asia Foundation, Give2Asia has made over $237 million in grants in support of education, health, disaster response and other diverse fields. Last year, Give2Asia granted over $31 million, making 2013 its most successful year to date.

During the past eight years, Mr. Stamperdahl has played a leadership role in all aspects of Give2Asia’s operations, including program development, field network management, finance, and donor stewardship efforts.

Before joining Give2Asia in 2006, Mr. Stamperdahl was a Vice President at Porter Novelli, helping to lead the agency’s technology practice in Silicon Valley. He has 15 years of experience in for-profit and nonprofit business management and marketing. Mr. Stamperdahl holds degrees in Political Science and Journalism from the University of New Hampshire.
