Follow on Google News | Singapore School Kebon Jeruk unleashes the Khan AcademySingapore School Kebon Jeruk has further extended its excellent learning support programmes by making the Khan Academy available to all students. This enables teachers, students and parents to see their learning progress in Mathematics.
The Khan Academy is a non-profit educational website created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan, a graduate of MIT and Harvard Business School. Its stated mission is to provide 'a free world-class education for anyone anywhere'. This week the parents of SIS Kebon Jeruk met with Head Teacher Craig Hansen to see inside the Khan Academy and be prepared to support their child’s use of this innovative programme, he says “With the Khan Academy our students can access this programme anywhere, anytime and get extra learning opportunities. Their progress through the lessons also gives them rewards in the form of Badges. We will celebrate each term with the students and acknowledge their success”. “This is an exciting way for teachers to give additional support to students that are struggling as well as extending those students that are learning with speed,” says Sandra Oktaria , the SIS kebon Jeruk Parent Relationship Officer. SIS Kebon Jeruk will increase its online programmes to ensure all students and parents have ease-of-access to both learning and assessment information.
