Oakland Mayor Jean Quan Declares Saturday, February 8th, 2014 "Stanley Cox aka Mistah F.A.B. Day"

OAKLAND, Calif. - Feb. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Artist, Songwriter and Philanthropist, Mistah F.A.B. is known for his reputation of charitable generosity. For many years, he has worked with community partners organizing numerous grassroots initiatives to serve the vulnerable population of Alameda County. Mistah F.A.B. was most recently recognized by Oakland Mayor Jean Quan, who declared Saturday, February 8th, 2014 "Stanley Cox aka Mistah F.A.B. Day" in recognition of the multi-talented hometown hero’s efforts to give back to the community.

Mistah F.A.B. actively participates in a host of charitable events, particularly in the North Oakland region and addresses issues of domestic abuse, gun violence, Cancer and AIDS/HIV awareness, Education and Hunger. His annual events include Ballin' for Peace, Love Shouldn’t Hurt, The Mistah F.A.B. Annual Backpack Giveaway, The Thanksgiving Turkey Feeding and Toys for Joy Christmas Drive as well as monetary donations to the American Cancer Society.

"It is such a huge honor for me to be recognized by the Mayor!  I'm so proud to be from Oakland and I think it's important for those of us who have been successful to come back and help uplift the community," states Mistah F.A.B.  "There are a lot of people in Oakland who are struggling and I want them to know that this is the kind of place where we look out for each other."

In continuation of his philanthropic efforts, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2014, Mistah F.A.B. will present the 4^th Annual “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” Luncheon in honor of victims and survivors of domestic abuse at a safe, undisclosed location.
