Experience the Montessori Curriculum at The Renaissance International School's "A Silent Journey"
Join The Renaissance International School's faculty and parents in "A Silent Journey," a program in which participants experience the Montessori Sensorial Geometry curriculum just as students do daily. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the Renaissance International School, 3618 Dimond Avenue in Oakland's Dimond disrict. The school is a Montessori school for boys and girls age 2 years old through middle school.
The Renaissance International School students often learn through silent observation, sparking their interest and curiosity. During "A Silent Journey," participants will share in this experience by literally “walking through the math curriculum” and then by gathering with faculty who will provide explanations and answer questions.
The time spent in the classroom during the journey will be completely silent in order to focus on the full learning experience.
After the journey, participants will have a chance to socialize with parents and teachers.
The Renaissance International School believes“A Silent Journey” provides an excellent view of students’ work in the classroom, and offers insight into the depth of the Montessori curriculum.
Montessori schools worldwide offer the program, "A Silent Journey," and it is met with positive results.
Those who have participated in the program say it was, "fascinating, intriguing, mind-opening, helpful, fun and entertaining."
The event is free. To register, email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 510-531-8566, or register online. Go to: http://www.therenaissanceschool.org, and click on "Tour Calendar" under the "Admissions"
