Peter J. Lucido announces candidacy for State Representative, District 36, in 2014 election
As a Shelby Township resident and lifelong Macomb County resident, Lucido is well-qualified for the job. As founder of one of the largest law firms in Macomb County, Lucido has more than 25 years experience practicing law, representing local residents, their families and businesses both large and small. As a small business owner, he truly understands what it takes to run a successful business and balance the books. Hiking taxes IS NOT an option in Lucido’s plan.
Lucido is one of eight children raised in Macomb County. His father was known as “The Green Grocer,” who later co-founded Lucido’s Insurance Agency, Inc. Peter and his brothers worked with their father delivering fresh fruits and vegetables door-to-door to local families. Shortly thereafter, his entrepreneurial instincts kicked in and Peter started his first business, Red’s Watermelon. He constructed a booth and sold ice cold watermelon, fruit cups, peanuts, potato chips and pop at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. Through long hours and hard work, by 1988, Peter held four college degrees including a master’s degree in business and a law degree. Lucido also acquired licenses in insurance, real estate and securities.
Lucido’s leadership in the community was acknowledged by his peers through his induction into the Macomb County Foundation’s Hall of Fame in 2003. He served on numerous boards, worked with chambers of commerce and ytnmn is the founder and publisher of
Macomb Now Magazine, a lifestyle magazine devoted exclusively to promoting the treasures that make Macomb County great.
As a family man, Lucido has been married for 23 years to his wife AnnMarie. Together they have three terrific children, Briana, Nina and Peter. His large extended family of brothers and sisters are in full support of his commitment to represent District 36 in Lansing.
Lucido has big plans for his candidacy and will host events for residents to “Meet Pete.” The first event is on Monday, February 17, 2014, Presidents’ Day, at The Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. Residents can enjoy breakfast with Lucido from 8 am to noon. Other events will take place every few weeks thereafter including Paczki with Pete, Irish Pub with Pete, Pasta with Pete, and more.
