Vegan Winemaker Jon Grant Presents at Gourmet Vegan Wine Dinner at The Signature Room in Chicago

CHICAGO - Feb. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Enjoy a special multi-course vegan menu paired with Grant Family Wines for a deliciously unique one-night-only culinary event at The Signature Room at the 95^th®, 875 N. Michigan Avenue, on Thursday, February 27 beginning at 6 p.m. Special guest, Jon Grant, the winemaker for Grant Family Wines and a long-time vegan himself, will introduce his wines and tasting notes during the five-course gourmet event that costs $95 per person, all inclusive.

The five-course gourmet menu will be paired with Grant Family Wines based in Santa Rosa, California.  During the reception, hors d’oeuvres including Black Bean Hummus with Tomato Raisin Chutney and Plantain Chips; Mushroom Pierogi with Spinach Sauce and an Assortment of Flatbreads will be paired with the 2010 Couloir "Roma's" Pinot Noir.

The dinner begins with a first course appetizer of Root Vegetable and Jalapeno Ravioli with Parsnip Puree and Potato Curls paired with 2012 Straight Line Sauvignon Blanc.  Second course is a Tomato Consommé with Chive Dumpling paired with 2011 Straight Line Syrah, and the third course features a Squash, Zucchini and Carrot “Pappardelle Pasta” with Porcini Ragout paired with a 2010 Couloir "Oppenlander" Pinot Noir.  The evening’s fourth course entrée is Pan Seared Tofu “Scallops” with Beet Quinoa and Edaname Coulis served with a 2011 Couloir "Monument Tree" Pinot Noir.  And the evening is topped off with a Malibu Coconut Phyllo Cup with Assorted Fruit, Vanilla Ice Cream and a Cherry Sauce served with freshly brewed Lavazza coffee and assorted teas.
