Long Island Head Lice Treatment

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Long Island-based DeLiceful does not use any toxic chemicals or pesticides for head lice removal, and all of their lice treatment products are natural and chemical-free.

Head Lice Treatment

They first apply a natural organic enzyme-based product to stun the live lice and make the nit removal process easier. Once the hair is saturated with the enzyme, they use a special nit comb to... comb, comb, comb, comb, comb... through the entire head until nits or lice are no longer visible. After combing, they check the entire head, using paper-thin sections, manually removing any remaining nits. Once the manual nit removal is complete, they blow-dry the hair and perform a recheck to ensure all nits and lice were removed.

Once the client is finally "de-liced" of all nits and lice, they put more enzyme product in the hair and comb through short hair or put long hair in a pony tail.

After Treatment

The parent or guardian will be responsible for washing the enzyme product out of the hair with shampoo 2 to 8 hours after application or before going to sleep or swimming.

The client will be required to have a complimentary recheck* after the initial treatment. During this time Deliceful highly recommends using an anti-lice shampoo every day until the recheck.

DeLiceful also recommends that all family members should be checked if one person in the home has lice; avoid sharing hair care items, towels, bedding, clothing, hats and headgear; combs, brushes and  similar items should be thoroughly cleaned in hot, soapy water; recently worn clothing and bedding should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer for at least 20 minutes before being used again; items that can’t be washed or dried should be dry-cleaned; thoroughly vacuum carpets, furniture, floors and seats in cars.

If you are nit-free for 10 to 12 days straight, you have successfully gotten rid of your head louse infestation... You have been "de-liced"!

* Your complimentary recheck appointment is scheduled approximately 3 to 7 days after the initial treatment.  Should you be unable to keep your scheduled recheck appointment, please contact DeLiceful to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours before your appointment. If you do not call to cancel and/or reschedule your recheck appointment, you will be required to pay a head check fee.
