VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Feb. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- The sorting of donations is going on, seeking a local distribution point in New West is being done, victims are picking out furniture, clothing, household items and much more. The Kary Movers teams are delivering everything and still actually out picking up large furniture items such as entertainment stands, beds, couches and so much more. James of Kary Movers says, "so many people called and continue to call wanting to donate large items but have no ability to move it themselves to the victims or the warehouse. The partnership with Market One Media Group allows us to go even further than we had planned by going and picking up large items and allowing the victims to come and pick out the stuff they would like for their new homes when they are ready. Kary Movers is then going to deliver the items to their new home to help them get moved in and start rebuilding their lives. Without the financial partnership with Market One Media, we could not have gone so far to help the victims with free delivery and picking up items free of charge to donors. This is especially heartwarming to us as it allows us to deliver two electric scooters to several of the residents who have serious mobility issues."

Market One Media Group CEO and Director said, "Our Company is excited to be able to assist the victims of the New Westminster fire. I was speaking with a team members and we happened to be discussing the disaster. I was not sure how to help and she suggested that there may be an opportunity to work with Kary Movers to help the victims. We wasted no time and new that was what we needed to do. We contacted the team at Kary Movers, met with them only a few hours later and set the plan in motion. We are committing $5000. to the delivery and operating costs to ensure the victims get all of the help they need in getting them set up in their new residences. I knew I had to do something and this was a great partnership for us but most importantly it will have the maximum impact to help victims."

Kary Movers staff is seeking a vacant space in New Westminster to act as a temporary distribution point for victims to come and pick out clothing, small appliances, TV's, Furniture etc as soon as possible. We are hopeful that with much vacant real estate in the area, we can secure something either by donation or at a low cost for a 30 day period very quickly. Until then the victims have to come out to our secured warehouse and pick out items which can be a challenge for some of the victims. It also is a very full warehouse so to have a New West location would help make it a much easier process of sorting and distribution.

We have many volunteers helping with the sorting and distribution process and are looking for more once we secure a distribution location. We are all just so proud of the community for stepping up in a much bigger way than we could have ever imagined. The outpouring of care and concern has overwhelmed us but we are working night and day to make it work. We have not seen the community from West Vancouver through to Abbotsford jump in so much to show love and concern still exists in our modern day. It is simply amazing.

With 32 units being burned to the ground, there are allot of displaced residents in New Westminster. We have been in talks with the Mayor's office, City Counselors and community organizations who are also working hard to help victims. Everyone is concerned and working hard to help. Thank you to the public for coming out on Sunday and continuing to call to donate items. At this time I do feel that we now need to focus on the sorting and distribution process. We have trucks scheduled to go out Thursday, Friday and Saturday to finish picking up large items and we will continue as long as it takes to help the victims get set up in their new homes. Providing access to all of the items they need and providing the delivery services. If anyone still wants to help they can contact James at Kary Movers who is the coordinator. Volunteers are still needed to come in and help sort the large amount of clothing and items that still require this. We need to get things out to the victims as soon as we can as they have nothing and are not helping by sitting in the warehouse.
