Workshop on Hemodynamic Monitoring – A Functional Approach for Indian Nurses

CHANDIGARH, India - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- INSCOL Academy and GlobalNurse4U organized and conducted workshops on Hemodynamic Monitoring at various colleges in Punjab. INSCOL Alumni Tarandeep Kaur, a registered Nurse in Canada, designed the workshop specifically for Indian nurses. Having studied and worked at PGIMER, Chandigarh for 5 years, she moved to Canada to pursue the specialty program in Critical Care Nursing at Conestoga College, Canada. The workshop enabled students and practicing nurses to understand how to prevent and detect complications by interpreting hemodynamic analysis and take clinical decisions based on the data. The workshop also delves on nursing interventions and safety measures taken on patients with Central and Arterial Line; assessment and intervention were discussed through case studies and practical demonstration on Simulators. Errors caused due to clinical negligence and lack of knowledge was also highlighted and participants were given tips on how to avoid them during the course of their clinical practice.

The workshops were conducted at Rayat and Bahra College of Nursing, Kharar on the 1-Feb wherein 140 students and faculty were trained. A similar workshop was organized at Sri Guru Ramdas Institute of Medical Science and Research, Amritsar on 3-Feb, with 60 participants and at Ramgharia College of Nursing, Phagwara on 4-Feb, with 50 participants.
