WATERBURY, Conn. - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Due to inclement weather, the scheduled January 22nd Legislative Breakfast hosted by the Waterbury Regional Chamber has been rescheduled for Friday, February 14 from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. The Chamber will host its annual Legislative Breakfast at the CoCo Key Water Resort Hotel & Convention Center at 3580 East Main Street in Waterbury. The event provides Chamber members the opportunity to hear from state leaders on their priorities regarding numerous issues that impact the business community, including taxes, workforce development, health care concerns, energy costs, infrastructure funding, and brownfield remediation. Attendees will have the opportunity to directly engage with the region’s legislators as the 2014 Legislative Session begins.

The Chamber’s 2014 Legislative Agenda represents the business community’s priorities in matters of public policy and economic development for the greater Waterbury region.  It is the work of numerous leaders on the Chamber’s board of directors, public policy committee, health care council and others.  Among its top priorities in 2014 is fiscal stability. The agenda recognizes that Connecticut has a unique opportunity to get its fiscal house in order. It urges the greater Waterbury delegation to act to effectively reign in spending and taxation levels that continue to inhibit budgetary stability and severely limit the outlook for investment in the state’s economy and jobs. It also encourages the Legislature to support a number of specific key areas needed for economic growth in the coming year.

Legislators invited to attend include Senators Danté Bartolomeo, Joseph Crisco, Joan Hartley, Robert Kane, and Joe Markley. The 16 State Representatives invited include Al Adinolfi, Jeffrey Berger, Larry Butler, Theresa Conroy, Victor Cuevas, Anthony D’Amelio, Mary Fritz, David Labriola, Craig Miner, Selim Noujaim, Arthur O’Neill, John Piscopo, Rosa Rebimbas, Robert Sampson, Sean Williams and Lezlye Zupkus.

Reserved seating costs for the breakfast are $35 for Chamber members, $70 for non-Chamber members, and $400 for reserved table with priority seating for nine and program recognition. Reservations are requested by February 11. To learn more and to register, visit www.waterburychamber.com, or contact Courtney Ligi at cligi@waterburychamber.com or 203-757-0701.
