Business News: Sterling Global and Grant Thornton Appoint New Leaders

David Johnson has been named vice president of strategic development and Washington operations at Sterling Global Operations.
He previously served as the spokesman for the National Security Council and was assistant secretary of state.
Alan Weakley, SGO president vscat and chief operating officer, said Johnson holds experience in the areas of diplomacy, intelligence and security issues, economic matters and global crisis management.
In other executive news, Jack Reagan was appointed to Grant Thornton's global public sector practice.
He has more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry.
Reagan most recently held a two-decade career at KPMG and worked for CliftonLarsonAllen earlier in his career.
In contract news, Lockheed Martin tested a 30-kilowatt electric fiber laser.
“The high-energy laser serves as the heart of a laser weapon system,” said Dr. Ray Johnson, senior vice president and CTO at Lockheed.
