New event for shippers and manufacturers: Transport Efficiency Forum 2014

European event gives shippers a platform to exchange experiences and discuss challenges for transport management
By: Transwide

BRUSSELS - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Wolters Kluwer Transport Services (WKTS), a leading provider of ‘on demand’ transport management software and services (TMSS), is inviting shipping companies from across Europe to meet at the Transport Efficiency Forum on 25th March 2014 at Brussels International Airport. This highly interactive event provides an exclusive opportunity for senior Supply Chain professionals, Transport Directors, Operations Managers and Planners to connect, learn and share experiences and best practices about daily transport management with peers and industry experts.

In a market environment where globalisation combines with rapid changes and regulatory requirements, manufacturers are challenged to manage their ‘end-to-end’ transport operations efficiently and collaboratively in order to reduce costs, optimise service levels, and sustain customer satisfaction.

The free to attend Transport Efficiency Forum will give participants the opportunity to consolidate their strategic and tactical visions of transport management through a mix of plenary sessions, contributions from customers, specific workshops, and live demonstrations of ‘on demand’ transport management solutions.

The agenda features a keynote speech from Professor Dr. J. Rod Franklin from Kühne Logistics University on the theme of “Transportation 2014 and beyond – Potholes or open highways?” According to him, “managing information is the key to the future success of transport companies and companies involved in transport and logistics. With this in mind, they need to move forward, not backwards, if they want to survive the next decade”.

Also contributing will be Alexander Epp, Logistics Director at D.E. Master Blenders 1753, the world’s third biggest coffee and tea company (Pickwick, Douwe Egberts, Senseo, L’Or, Maison du Café, among others), with his views on optimising his incoming and outgoing deliveries in Europe.

This event reflects Wolters Kluwer Transport Services objective to anticipate and articulate developments in the transportation market and to help shipping companies respond to them. Fabrice Maquignon, CEO, WKTS explains: “As the only supplier of on-demand software solutions and services that meet the needs of carriers, freight forwarding companies and shippers, we understand how important it is to bring together the different communities in the transport ecosystem. This is why we are delighted to welcome companies from all over Europe to give them the chance to share and advance their knowledge.”

Supply Chain professionals, Logistics Directors, Transport Managers, Operations Directors and Transport Planners who wish to attend this English speaking event free of charge, are invited to register and view the full event agenda at: http://www.transport-efficiency-forum.com
