SHREWSBURY, Mass. - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- As adults, being active is just another ‘to do' on our daily laundry list- or placed on the back burner entirely. We know that much like going to work, making dinner and remembering to shower- we get into a certain groove where most things become second nature. And much like scheduling a date night or finding the time to read a good book, fitness gets left behind on the list of "I'll get to it tomorrow".

Active or not - as ‘grown-ups' we know how important it is to incorporate fitness into our daily routines. The key is getting your kids, your nieces and nephews and younger siblings EXCITED about fitness. Not tomorrow, not six months from today, but NOW! Not only does getting your children involved in physical activity at a young age allow them to build the foundation of a balanced and healthy lifestyle- but its social and most importantly, fun! Here at SHARC we understand that kids come in all ages and abilities so we've made sure that there is a fitness program for everyone.

SHARC's Youth Fitness programs are built to teach them about the proper fitness fundamentals and to properly educate kids about exercise and nutrition. Having a child learning and practicing healthy habits early on will:

1.     Promote proper growth & development

2.     Prevent injuries

3.     Decrease risk of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and obesity

4.     Improve school performance and behavior

5.     Provide a mental boost- helping to prevent anxiety and depression

It's never too late to get your kids involved. Whether you've got a little one as young as 5 and you sign them up for Munchkin Yoga or you want to put your teenager in Varsity Academy because they're serious about joining a competitive sport – we have it all here at SHARC. Our highly trained coaches and instructors know how important it is to encourage fitness in our youth.  Be sure to pick a program that works best for them!
