NEW YORK - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Noted trends expert and keynote speaker Daniel Levine is reporting a surge in the “Internet of Things” trend. Levine is noticing a rise in the number of household products which feature an internet connection.

“The convenience and simplicity provided by smart phone apps is being taken to the next level,” says Levine. “Developers are taking advantage of this technology to provide fool-proof options for consumers.”

Home automation is already on the rise. Home security systems, thermostats, and lights can be controlled at the touch of a smart phone button. Sensors are keeping owners informed of when something is moving or in use. General Electric is developing smart appliances, which will allow appliances to keep homeowners informed about needed groceries and the quality of food being stored. A barbeque grill has been developed that runs on voice command and automatically finds optimal cooking times and techniques. Even the tooth brush is getting an upgrade. A new product is featuring a Bluetooth connection that records brushing habits and offers feedback on how to be more efficient.

“This trend shows that there is a big market for people seeking reassurance,” says Levine. “Instead of double-checking doors or using experience to cook a steak, there is now technology that will do it for you. The peace of mind being offered by these products is incredibly valuable to consumers.”
