Independent Grape Growers Offers Annual Winter Seminar & Discusses Drought

TEMPLETON, Calif. - Jan. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- The public is invited to join the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) for their Annual Winter Seminar.The seminar will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Silverhorse Winery & Vineyard located at 2995 Pleasant Road, San Miguel, Calif. 93451

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from K. Christopher (KC) Branch of KC Branch Firm about Grape Purchase Agreements, PG&E Meteorologist John Lindsey about the drought and winter weather forecasts, also Jennifer Anderson from Farm Services Agency will discuss government programs that may be available to help growers who suffer financial losses due to the drought. Finally, Dr. Lowell Zelinski of Precision Ag Consulting and Richard Sauret of Sauret Vineyardswill talk about modifications to pruning strategies because of the drought including pruning both head and cordon trained vines.

The seminar is FREE for IGGPRA members and $20 for non-members, refreshments will be provided.
