Magikid Releases ‘Cultural Discovery’ App For Kids
Magikid Nian - Chinese New Year App Available on the App Store.
“We created this app for kids everywhere,”
Magikid Nian draws on ancient Chinese traditions and presents them in interactive games for kids. The app is centered around a tilt-controlled game where users frighten off the monster Nian and his cohorts, saving the villagers and their New Year celebrations. Progressing in the game unlocks new tools, more games, and educational content.
The name Magikid Nian comes from an ancient Chinese story about a monster who terrorized villagers right before the new year. The monster was scared of the color red, fire, and loud noises. To this day, people celebrate Chinese New Year by wearing red clothes, lighting lanterns, and setting off firecrackers.
