Follow on Google News | Vancouver Tech Startup Brings Their Food Bank Drive to Social MediaGrocery app company Hiyu has reached over 500 Likes through their ‘Gift of Grocery’ campaign which translates into 500 lbs of food for those in need.
By: Hiyu “The number of people the Greater Vancouver Food Bank helps each week is staggering: over 28,000 people. But they receive 75% of donations during the holiday season. We wanted to do our part in raising awareness about the great work they do in our community all year,” says Hiyu founder Daniel Roizman. “We created an app to make grocery shopping easier and more social, and we wanted to put that into action for the thousands of people who receive support from the food bank.” Hiyu hopes to reach 1000 “Likes” by the end of January as part of its Gift of Grocery campaign in order to donate 1000 lbs of groceries.
