Martin Rodgers of Accenture wins Community Service Award at 2014 BEYA STEM Conference

BALTIMORE - Jan. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Martin Rodgers, Executive Director, Accenture,  has been selected to win the Community Service award at the 2014 BEYA STEM Conference, which will take place February 6-8 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.

The Community Service award is given to a professional who has demonstrated leadership in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) communities through volunteer work, contributions, and other such activities that are not included in his or her job duties.

Rodgers is a managing director for Accenture’s Health & Public Service practice. He also serves as executive director for Accenture’s nonprofit group. His professional endeavors all focus on activities that serve the public in some form. With more than 15 years of federal, commercial, nonprofit and multilateral management experience, he has helped several diverse clients. The U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Labor, Education, Commerce and HUD are examples on a long list of organizations that have benefited from his expertise.

The 28th annual BEYA STEM Conference, hosted by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine, the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Lockheed Martin Corporation, continues to bring together students, college administrators, recruiters, engineering and IT professionals, scientists, and high-level decision-makers from the corporate, government, and military communities, in an effort to broaden diversity in this country's technical and scientific work forces.
