The 2013 ecoBlog Awards, hosted by ethicalDeal, show off the best Canadian ecoBlogs of the year

Jan. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- After 2 months of open nominations and voting - concluding Jan 17, 2014 - the 2013 ecoBlog Awards (http://ethicaldeal.com/blog/2014/01/2013-ethicaldeal-blog-awards-results) rounded up the very best Canadian Vegan, Gluten-free, Eco-Mom, and Health/Fitness Blogs of 2013! Hosted by ethicalDeal.com (http://www.ethicaldeal.com), a Canadian site that helps people discover greener choices at great prices every day, the blog awards were a huge success with almost 500 votes in each category (over 1500 in total)!

Four blogs emerged as the people’s favourite ecoBlogs of the year: Tuja Wellness (http://www.tujawellness.com/?utm_source=press%20release&utm_medium=media&utm_content=tuja&utm_campaign=tuja), an online guide to finding the best-of-the-best health and wellness vendors across Canada was your favourite Canadian Health & Wellness Blog.  An exploration into everything Vegan - The Vegan Project -  with almost 150 votes, was the crowd pleasing Canadian Vegan Blog of the year! Green Moms Collective (http://www.greenmomscollective.ca/?utm_source=press%20rel...) - a blog started by a Toronto-based teacher, now a community of moms dedicated to raising eco-friendly families - won out as your favourite Canadian Eco-Mom Blog. And a close race to the end, WildLives (http://wildlives.ca/?utm_source=press%20release&utm_m...), a blog started by a Vancouver-native Registered Holistic Nutritionist, emerged the fan favourite Canadian Gluten-free Blog!

The ecoBlog Awards, an initiative of ethicalDeal (http://ethicaldeal.com/), was started to discover and promote eco-bloggers.  “We’re on a mission to make greener choices easier for everyone” said Annalea Krebs, Chief Ambassador of ethicalDeal.com. “These blogs make greener choices easier by providing much needed education and inspiration.”

Winners received 2013 ecoBlog Award badges to put on their blog, press attention, and promotion to the ethicalDeal community which reaches 400,000+ natural and organic consumers across Canada. “We hope this recognition allows them to grow their communities and inspires them to continue to share their passion for healthy green living with others” says Annalea.

So, how can you get started on your way to becoming an award winning blog? The favourite bloggers of the 2013 ethicalDeal Blog Awards offered words of wisdom in a New Years Interview (http://ethicaldeal.com/blog/2014/01/2013-ethicaldeal-blog-awards-blogger-interviews/?utm_source=press%20release&utm_medium=media&utm_content=blogger%20interviews&utm_campaign=blogger%20interviews).  Tuja Wellness stressed the importance of exploring and reading: “Learn from the best by reading tons of their posts and the way they go about sharing their expertise and passions. Then go out and find a unique way to do this yourself and start writing.” Sara from Green Moms Collective noted that it is important “not to compare yourself with other blogs” as writing is about your passion. “Every one of us is in a different part of our story,” she continues, “and we all need to start somewhere!”  Brittany from WildLives reaffirmed the importance of writing about what inspires you, and addressing your community on helping them to reach their goals. The Vegan Project shared this enthusiasm, stating that writing is all about passion: “Don’t fuss over the small stuff or whether your content is ‘good enough’. If it’s from your heart and put out with good intentions, people will connect to it.”
