David Bousso Debuts New Ensemble, EMPIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA, 2/8

NEW YORK - Jan. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- David Bousso, founder and artistic director of the EMPIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA(ECO) is very excited about launching the debut of his new ensemble, which will take place at 8:00 PM on February 8th at the Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church located on West 66th Street in New York City.

The EMPIRE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA's mission of is to create opportunities for young professional musicians to play with high-quality ensembles, perform the works of the great composers, introduce works by contemporary composers and feature young up-coming artists, while giving back to the community where these young artists grew up and received their musical training. Given the present state of the arts organizations, ECO's mission is becoming more important than ever to keep the arts flowing by presenting great quality concerts to our community.

Bousso, a native New Yorker, has established himself as a professional versatile conductor, orchestral, chamber and solo violinist as well as a teacher. He guest-conducted the Union City Philharmonic Orchestra and has recently performed as a soloist with The New York Chamber Virtuosi. As an active member of the West Eastern Divan Orchestra for over the past decade, under the direction of Maestro Daniel Barenboim (http://www.broadwayworld.com/people/Daniel-Barenboim/), Bousso has particpated in performances by the orchestra in 30 countries across 4 continents. He also toured as the concertmaster and solo violinist of the Broadway musical Little House on the Prairie, which was performed in 25 cities throughout the U.S and Canada.

In keeping the mission of the newly created ensemble, Bousso has invited 17-year old violinist Joseph Morag to perform Mozart's violin concerto No. 4 (http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwclassical/article/David-B...). Morag, the concertmaster of the NY Youth Symphony, is a senior at LaGuardia High School and a winner of several competitions, including the Lincoln Center Chamber Music (http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwmusic) Society Competition and the Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition. He participated in the inaugural international tour of Carnegie Hall (http://www.broadwayworld.com/people/Carnegie-Hall/)'s National Youth Orchestra of the United States, under the baton of Valery Gergiev.

The performance on February 8th will also feature " Island Soliloquy" a composition by contemporary New York composer Ljova (Lev) Zhurbin who was hailed by the New York Times as "dizzyingly versatile... an eclectic with an ear for texture... strikingly original and soulful". Zhurbin divides his time between composing for the concert stage, contemporary dance (http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwdance) & film, leading his own ensemble LJOVA AND THE KONTRABAND (http://www.ljova.com/kontraband/), as well as a busy career as a freelance violist & musical arranger.

The concert on February 8th, which will includes works by Rossini, Mozart and Zhurbin promises to be an exciting event for the Empire Chamber Orchestra and the local community is awaiting the debut of its new ensemble with great anticipation.
