The Legacy Package of Michael Murphy

WEST CHESTER, Ohio - Jan. 23, 2014 - PRLog -- Maybe it is ironic Michael Murphy’s biggest legacy may be left in what he chose to leave behind in pursuit of his calling to serve – education.

“Education will always set you free,” was always a big motto with Michael Murphy, so his parents decided to set up the Murph Foundation to help others achieve their educational goals and dreams. With this foundation, every single dime contributes towards that cause.

Gary Williams’ goal of getting the word out on Murphy’s story has been extremely successful. The Seal of Honor Facebook page has over 1.3 million followers to date. While many people did not serve who follow the page, Williams says, they likely have a family member, or know someone who did. This has helped spread the word exponentially about Murphy. Due in part to this, it has turned into a military tribute site for all military members – not just Murphy.

From the Navy’s newest destroyer ship, the U.S.S. Michael Murphy, to a person learning in the classroom because of their Murph Foundation scholarship, and someone choosing to enter into the military because they were positively affected by his story – Murphy’s legacy crosses many bounds and continues to grow each day.
