ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - Jan. 31, 2014 - PRLog -- On February, 3rd, 2014, the YMCA of Orange County is launching its annual campaign to ensure that everyone in our community has access to vital community programs and resources that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Every day, the YMCA of Orange County works to support the people and neighborhoods that need it most by offering afterschool programs for kids to have a safe place to play and learn; health and wellness programs for youth, adults and seniors to stay active and fit, Adventure Guide programs for families to reconnect and grow together, and events for the whole community to get together, stay educated, and give back. Last year, charitable gifts from donors made it possible for the YMCA of Orange County to serve over 60,000 people with over 1 million dollars in contributions.

“Throughout Orange County, countless people know the Y. But there’s so much more to our Y than one might think”, said Jeff McBride, CEO, YMCA of Orange County. “The Y is more than a gym. It’s a cause. As a charity, we’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors.”

This year, the YMCA of Orange County hopes to raise $530,000. All funds raised will directly support scholarships and financial aid for our neighbors in need.

Several community kick-off events will take place from February through March at YMCA of Orange County branches. Please call your local branch for more information.
