Kenmore’s WinterWeek+ 2014 Offers Mid-Winter Traveller a Warm Welcome
Starting on Saturday 15th February and running until Sunday 23rd February, WinterWeek+ offers visitors to the Kenmore area a selection of different events and activities suitable for both couples and families including ghost walks, chocolate making workshops, a Farmers’ Market, bell-ringing concert and Alpine safaris.
A new addition to the WinterWeek+ schedule this year is the recently re-opened Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy whose £1.3million redevelopment has transformed the heart of nearby Aberfeldy and created a hub for film lovers visiting the area. The state of the art cinema will be hosting a chocolate festival as well as showing a range of recent films throughout the duration of WinterWeek+.
Fiona Sloan, Acting General Manager of The Birks Cinema explained:
“We’re delighted to be taking part in our first WinterWeek+ in what is already such a big year for Scotland. We know the WinterWeek+ celebrations are always extremely popular and this area is the perfect location for a mid-term or short breaks.”
Another prominent attraction at the heart of WinterWeek+ is the Scottish Crannog Centre who will be leading the festivities by opening its doors to the public with a range of Iron Age themed events as well as a Guided Walk to the nearby Iron Age Hillfort.
Director, Barrie Andrian, said:
“We’re delighted to be supporting the WinterWeek+ Festival again for the fourth year and we look forward to offering a warm welcome to visitors who normally find us closed at this time of year. The Festival is a great opportunity to showcase Kenmore and the wider area as a beautiful and active destination.”
Other activities during WinterWeek+ include red squirrel encounters, local dining events and accommodation offers.
