, equipment manager overseeing all 21 varsity teams at Auburn University, has been voted by fellow equipment managers and the general public as the 2013 Raw Athletics Equipment Manager of the Year (http://www.rawathletics.com/)
During the Iron Bowl (http://www.al.com/
ironbowl/) on November 30, 2013, Dana received national attention when he used a sewing machine on the sidelines to immediately repair the jersey of Auburn defensive lineman #10 LaDarius Owens with minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Dana has been with the Auburn Tigers since 2006. Prior to Auburn, Dana was the Western Regional Promotion Manager for Schutt Sports from 2005-06. Dana also served as the Director of Equipment Operations at University of California from 2002-05, and Football Equipment Manager at Oregon State from 2001-02. Dana has also held a number of marketing positions for the Portland Winterhawks, Denver Grizzlies and Colorado Foxes.
Five other equipment managers were also nominated by their peers to be considered for the 2013 Raw Athletics Equipment Manager of the Year-- Cathy Correia, Becker College; Darren Damewood, Moravian College; Joe Austin, Brown University; Kevin Schiltz, St. Johns University (Minn.); and Bob Kenny, Tufts University.
