About the Author: Major G D Kotze, who writes under the pen name Jack Durrel, was raised in Pretoria, South Africa. After finishing school in 1965, he joined the South African Police Force. During his career, he served in many different sections and travelled extensively throughout South Africa. Major Kotze retired due to medical reasons in 1992 after 27 years of service.
