In his role as director of Philadelphia’ The AMP program focuses on undergraduate students, but Cox hopes to change that. As of 2012, Philadelphia AMP is responsible for more than 9600 STEM Bachelor of Science degrees, more than 2200 Master of Science degrees and more than 300 Ph.D. degrees in STEM disciplines. The 28th annual BEYA STEM Conference, hosted by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine, the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Lockheed Martin Corporation, continues to bring together students, college administrators, recruiters, engineering and IT professionals, scientists, and high-level decision-makers from the corporate, government, and military communities, in an effort to broaden diversity in this country's technical and scientific work forces.
