DETROIT - Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Across increasingly blurred national boundaries and ethnic differences, the conflicts revealed by the characters in these poems and stories consider universal issues that we all must deal with as our world becomes more complex and confusing.

In her third collection of stories and poems, Latika Mangrulkar asks the question: “Mirror, mirror what do you see? Why does your shadow fall so free?” Taken from insights drawn over the last 50 years, this Indian poet who now lives in America presents a mosaic that echoes the myths drawn from diverse traditions of the East and the West.

Through narratives and poetry that reflect multi-faceted versions of reality, glimpses of the diverse people living in this trans-national world undergo an ever-changing range of emotions. The world is seen through their eyes, as each looks at the same events. Portraits are painted of young and old, men and women, and first, second, or third generation immigrants, because these people have important stories to tell of where they came from and where they are going, stories that create Uneven Shadows on their souls.
