By: SloBody The Grand Welcoming event at SloBody’s studio at 209 NE 5th Terrace in Delray Beach, featuring a ribbon cutting with the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce, will be held Thursday, January 23 from 5:00 to 6:30pm. It will also include a tour and history of SloBody’s facility, a meet-and-greet with the founders as well as students, photos from classes and events over the past year, raffles courtesy of numerous local Delray Beach establishments, and delicious and healthy refreshments and food. All attendees will be entered to win health and fitness-related raffle items from businesses like: Fit Food Express, Greenlands Variety Store, Infrasweat, Juice Buzz, Olive Taste, Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens, Mellow Mushroom and SloBody. “Our welcome to the Delray Beach community over this past year has been truly wonderful,” said co-founder Tiede. “Now it’s our turn to thank the local businesses that have supported us, the community that has adopted us, and our students who have dedicated themselves to the practice of SloBody.” SloBody is also using the Grand Welcoming party as an opportunity to introduce a variety of new offerings including its new TheraStrech (Therapeutic Stretch) class and new “Ramp Up” program. Designed to get folks the best results possible out of their group training program in the shortest amount of time, TheraStretch is geared to those with limited mobility, new to yoga and stretching, and/or deconditioned. The Ramp Up program is for all new SloBody students and consists of a consultation and three 30-min private training sessions. The Ramp Up is a onetime $97 investment (a $225 value) that gets you ready for our regular programs. Former NCAA Division I athletes, Certified Personal Trainers, Yoga Instructors and Masters at breaking movement down, Kirk Slobody and Janine Tiede, created SloBody. By stripping Yoga to the essence of what makes it great exercise and blending it with old school conditioning (squats, lunges, core work, push-ups) they created a unique workout that builds: strength, awareness, balance, flexibility, and mobility. About the SloBody® Method SloBody – conditioning infused yoga™ – is a trademarked workout method that strengthens, lengthens and opens your body to its full potential and range of motion. SloBody introduces a one of a kind strength conditioning regimen (squats, lunges, core work, push-ups) and combines them with stress-combating yoga postures and efficient breathing for a workout that builds muscle, self-awareness, balance, flexibility, and improved mobility. The SloBody teaching method, which has been utilized as a training method by corporations such as Starbucks, Bank of America, Nike, the Seattle Police SWAT Team, and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, is highly influenced by years of experience in the fitness industry. Noticing a lack of breaking down movements and/or providing alternative options for the injured or fitness novices in other group exercise classes, the SloBody method was formed.
