Jan. 20, 2014
-- Dr. Sandy Termotto, president of Equus Ventures, LLC, and founder of the Hilton Head/Savannah Equestrian Exposition, will once again host this annual fundraiser, which will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Rose Hill Plantation Equestrian Center. The event is sponsored in part by Audi Hilton Head. Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Maple, manager of the Rose Hill Equestrian Center, is the 2013 event chairman.
The Spirit of the Horse
remains the theme of the day’s exciting events, which include Parade of Breeds, Barrel Racing demonstrations, Lowcountry Hunt Demonstration, Hunt Chase and Six Bar Jumping concluding with a thrilling Polo Match.
“Our goal continues to be showcasing the Spirit of the Horse for the benefit of local charities and increasing the public awareness of the equestrian lifestyle. Spectators will continue to enjoy magnificent horses working as one with their skilled riders,” stated Dr. Termotto.
As in the past, there will be a special Art Tent featuring fine equestrian art for sale along with offerings from other vendors.
Rose Hill Plantation Equestrian Center is located on Hwy. 278 in Bluffton. Gates open at 11:00 a.m. with exhibitions beginning at 12:30 p.m., capped off by the day’s Polo Match at 2:30 p.m. General admission is $15. Over the years, this event has raised nearly $250,000 that was donated to numerous charities in the Hilton Head/Savannah communities. The beneficiaries for 2013 include American Diabetes Association, Bluffton Historical Preservation Society, Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center, Heritage Library History & Genealogy Research Center, Heroes on Horseback, John Paul II Catholic School, Lowcountry Hunt, Saint Gregory the Great Ministries, Savannah College of Art & Design Equestrian Program and Savannah Philharmonic.
“This is the first year that Audi has been involved with the Equestrian Expo, and we’re glad to be involved,” said Warner Peacock, President & CEO of New River Auto Mall. “It’s great that they are able to donate so much to charity from this event.”
