Ballet In Cleveland Announces First Annual Gala Event Feb. 28

CLEVELAND - Jan. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- CLEVELAND, January 16, 2014 – Ballet in Cleveland, a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting extraordinary ballet performances and education with the best professional ballet companies and dancers from across the nation, will hold its first gala fundraising event February 28, 2014. Doors will open at 6:00 pm for the ballet-inspired evening taking place at the Tudor Arms Hotel, 10660 Carnegie Avenue in Cleveland.

Proceeds from the gala will benefit scholarships for young dancers in Northeast Ohio to attend master ballet classes that Ballet in Cleveland presents with world-class instructors.  The fundraiser will also enable the organization to present professional ballet productions in Cleveland, including a world premiere performance produced and danced by ballerina Ashley Bouder.  The premiere will also feature other New York City Ballet principal dancers, taking place in October 2014 at PlayhouseSquare. This red carpet event will include works by Balanchine as well as a new ballet choreographed by up-and-coming choreographer Joshua Beamish.

Guests of the gala will enjoy dinner, dancing and performances by Ballet Le Reve as well as nationally recognized professional ballet stars Allison DeBona, Rex Tilton and Christopher Ruud of Ballet West and the television series Breaking Pointe. Entertainment will also include a live band, dancing, and the sounds of Kristy Kline, Cleveland's rock harpist and Maurice Reedus, Jr., Cleveland’s Sax Man.

The event will feature more than $10,000 in silent auction items as well as appetizer and dessert buffets, from District Cleveland and Mason’s Creamery, among other top-notch Cleveland vendors such as Portside Distillery and Mitchell’s Fine Chocolates. The Tudor Arms Hotel will prepare a gourmet dinner.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for cocktails, appetizers, and silent auction with dinner to begin at 7:30 pm. Performances will take place after dinner with a live band, social dancing, dessert and conclusion of silent auction following the performance.
