Moreover, in line with its mission to serve society and help its members maintain healthy eyesight, the Center provides educational means to raise awareness among young and old people on how to protect their eyes. Its website offers valuable information for the public in a clear and simple language.
Shami Eye Center is preparing to hold several public educational activities to highlight means for protecting the eye and available treatments for some of the conditions that may impair vision. Work is also in progress to distribute posters and brochures on eye health.
For physicians and surgeons, the Center holds training courses and workshops to arm them with the skills needed to serve patients and advance ophthalmology in Jordan.
Commenting on Shami Eye Center’s goals, Director General Mr. Omar Shami said: “We have always sought to spread the word on the importance of maintaining healthy eyes and raise the standard of ophthalmology in the Kingdom.”
“We are determined to continue working extensively on serving doctors and patients all over Jordan to achieve our mission of protecting the vision of all members of society — young and old.”
Dr. Issam Bataineh, the President of the Ophthalmologists Association, and former association presidents Dr. Abd AlMu’iz Shawar and Dr. Mamdouh Abd AlSalam participated in the awards ceremony.
